In re: Volkswagen “Clean Diesel” Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation, Case No. 3:15-md-02672-CRB

Who’s Eligible

If you are a Class Member in either of the Volkswagen diesel emissions settlements, you are eligible to participate in the Bosch class action settlement.

The 2.0-liter Settlement Class includes anyone who:

  • On Sept. 18, 2015, was a registered owner or lessee of (or who held title to or held bill of sale dated on or before Sept.18, 2015) an Eligible Vehicle in the United States or its territories; or
  • Between Sept. 18, 2015 and Dec. 30, 2018, became a registered owner of (or who hold title to or hold bill of sale dated after Sept. 18, 2015 but before the end of the Claims Period) an Eligible Vehicle.
  • The 3.0-liter Settlement Class includes anyone who:

  • Owned or leased an eligible vehicle in the United States or its territories at any time between Sept. 18, 2015 and Nov. 2, 2015; or
  • Become the owner of a Generation One vehicle between Nov. 3, 2015 and June 1, 2019; or
  • Become the owner of a Generation Two vehicle between Nov. 3, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2019; or
  • Own an Eligible Vehicle in the United States or its territories at the time of participation in the 3.0-liter Class Action Settlement Program.
  • The following diesel engine vehicles are included in the Bosch class action settlement:

  • 2009-2015 Volkswagen Jetta
  • 2009-2014 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen
  • 2013-2015 Volkswagen Beetle
  • 2013-2015 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible
  • 2010-2013 Audi A3
  • 2015 Audi A3
  • 2010-2015 Volkswagen Golf
  • 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen
  • 2012-2015 Volkswagen Passat
  • 3.0-Liter Class Vehicles

  • 2009-2016 Volkswagen Touareg
  • 2009-2015 Audi Q7
  • 2014-2016 Audi A6
  • 2014-2016 Audi A7
  • 2014-2016 Audi A8
  • 2014-2016 Audi A8L
  • 2014-2016 Audi Q5
  • 2013-2016 Porsche Cayenne Diesel

Potential Award

Up to $1,500.

Eligible Class Members of the VW 2.0-liter settlement who own an Eligible Vehicle are eligible to receive a payment of $350 from the Bosch settlement, unless they have already filed an approved claim for the vehicle, in which case they will receive $175.

Eligible sellers in the VW 2.0-liter settlement who identified themselves and filed an approved claim will receive $175.

Eligible lessees in the VW 2.0-liter class action settlement will receive $200 from the Bosch settlement.

Eligible Class Members of the VW 3.0-liter settlement who own an Eligible Vehicle will be entitled to a payment of $1,500 unless:

  • An eligible former owner or lessee of the vehicle has filed an approved claim for the vehicle, in which case the eligible former owner or lessee and eligible owner will each receive $750.
  • Two eligible former owners have identified themselves and filed approved claims for the vehicle in the 3.0-liter settlement. In this situation, the Eligible owner will receive $750 and the two former owners will each receive $375.

An eligible Lessee in the VW 3.0-liter settlement will receive a payment of $1,200 from the Bosch class action settlement.

Proof of Purchase

Class Members must submit their VIN. They may also be asked to submit supporting documentation, such as vehicle registration, vehicle title, lease contract and/or a copy of their driver’s license.

Remember: you are submitting your claim under penalty of perjury. You are also harming other eligible Class Members by submitting a fraudulent claim. If you’re unsure if you qualify, please read the FAQ section of the Settlement Administrator’s website to ensure you meet all standards (Legal Action News is not a Settlement Administrator). Claim Form Deadline

5/1/2017 – For Eligible Sellers who missed the Eligible Seller Identification Deadline in the 2.0-liter class action settlement and for eligible owners who don’t file a timely claim in the 3.0-liter class action settlement.

8/15/2017 – For Class Members who excluded themselves from either the 2.0-liter settlement or the 3.0-liter class action settlement.

12/31/2019 – Deadline for the Bosch class action settlement. NOTE: If you file a claim in the VW settlements, you do not need to file a claim for the Bosch settlement. If your VW settlement claim is approved, you will automatically receive payment from the Bosch class action settlement.
