Who’s Eligible
“All current and former employees of Taconic whose W-2 data was compromised as a result of the Data Disclosure which occurred on or about January 30, 2017.”
Potential Award
Up to $3,000 depending on the time and costs incurred.
Claim A: Class Members who had a fraudulent tax return filed after Jan. 30, 2017, will be eligible for a payment of $150 per tax return year.
Claim B: Class Members who experienced identity theft following the data breach can claim $100 per incident, in addition to out-of-pocket expenses available under Claim E.
Claim C: Class Members who qualify for money from Claim A or Claim B and spent at least one hour of time resolving the tax fraud or other identity theft incident, may submit a claim for time spent dealing with the effects of the data breach and be reimbursed $25 per hour, for a max of 10 hours.
Claim D: Class Members who do not qualify for cash under Claim A or Claim B and spent at least one hour of time in dealing with the effects of the data breach may submit a claim for up to 3 hours of their time at $25 per hour.
Claim E: Class Members who can provide documented, out-of-pocket financial losses that are connected to the data breach may claim reimbursement for those losses up to $3,000.
“Before submitting a claim for reimbursement of expenses in Category E as described above, Settlement Class Members who previously enrolled in Experian’s ProtectMyID service offered by Taconic must attest to have first submitted their claim to Experian and have that claim denied or exhausted.”
Proof of Purchase
All Class Members must submit a Claim Form. Class Members seeking cash reimbursement must provide documentation and/or a self-verifying statement about the time spend dealing with the data breach.
